My little peanut butter cup, edie beady boo is 6 months old! Oh my goodness how did that happen? I feel like we just brought her home from the hospital. M and I have agreed that these 6 months have been the fastest by far. Each month comes and goes and our little babe grows and changes before our eyes.
Edie has been a wonderful sleeper since day one (thank goodness). She is still a thumb sucker, which has been a game changer and allows her to self soothe. She is currently in the midst of a really bad cold, that we all have and it’s really her first time being truly sick. Even sick she does her very best to try to sleep!
Edie rolls in all directions and is always happiest sleeping on her tummy. She is working on sitting independently but sometimes topples when she is trying to grab something. She has great hand and eye coordination and can reach out and grab anything she wants easily. She loves playing in her skip hop activity chair. We keep a bunch of fun toys and she likes to watch everything happening around her (usually Ellery and Ev running around the house). She is teething like crazy and I have a feeling she might have a tooth earlier than both Ellery and Everett. She is a chewing machine.
She loves finding tags on her toys and trying to nibble on them!
We started solids a few weeks ago. We’ve done a bunch-avocado, sweet potato, carrots, bananas, peaches, pears, peas, butternut squash, beets and apples. We’ve also tried some eggs, peanut butter, oatmeal and some baby cereals. So far it seems like carrots (roasted and pureed), butternut squash and maybe peas are the favorites. I have a feeling she is going to be a great eater.
She loves watching Ellery and Everett. Ellery seems to speak a whole different language with Edie and she eats it up. The two of them can make her laugh more than anyone else.
We just celebrated Edie’s 1st Christmas and it was really special. She loves all the lights and excitement. She is just old enough to be able to sit up with us and see everything going on around her. Her favorite gift from Santa was her singing elephant, which I also happen to love!
Edie loves the bath-even though she only gets about two a week, whoops! She has the most kissable cheeks and giggles when you kiss her neck. She is so snugglicious and I can’t get enough of her. I wish I could just bottle up this time and save it forever because it’s just that perfect.
