I can’t believe you are ONE! How did that happen?
It feels like yesterday that I was carrying you around, all wrapped up on me for weeks on end. You’ve been the very best snuggler since day one.
You are doing so many amazing things already. You scoot on your tush to move around using one leg (just like your Sister, Ellery!) You can stand and hold one hand onto someone. I don’t think walking is too far away yet.
You say words! Mama, Dada, Hi, Ugh ohhh (very exaggerated!) and lots of words that have yet to make any sense.
You sign for “more” and “all done”.
You eat almost everything! Some favorites these days are cherry tomatoes, avocados, pasta with pesto (pasta with anything, really!) Eggs (every day!) Toast, Berries, salad (a new favorite), watermelon.
You love to read. We try to read together at least twice a day but always right before bed. You love lifting flaps and touching the books. Some favorites are all the Matthew Van Fleet books, Pat the Bunny, Pop up Books, Arlo, all your books with music because dancing is your very favorite.
You suck your thumb and when you get tired you just rest your head down wherever you are. Sleeping has always come naturally to you so when you aren’t sleeping, we know something is up.
You have 5 (almost 6) teeth and you give kisses by leaning in and almost using your forehead to kiss. It’s the most endearing thing.
You love your brother and sister. They make you laugh and you love to play next to them in the playroom. They are so sweet with you (most of the time!)
You’ve recently become enamored with Charlie and Sailor (Grammie and Grampy’s dogs). You just want to pet and snuggle them. You squeal with excitement when they’re around. You like to try and say “hi, Charlie!” when you see her. Dog is definitely a word you’ve almost said a couple of times.
The beach is quickly becoming one of your favorite places. I swear you think you will swim because you crawl right into the water. I love to see your little baby tan legs from too much time outside. It makes me happy to know that we’ve been taking in all the fresh air we can on these Summer days.
For your Birthday party we had a backyard party. We had music, lots of yummy food, face painting, bounce house and all our favorite friends and family. I’m pretty sure you had a lot of fun just listening to music and seeing all your favorite people.
You’ve made me the happiest Mom by just being you. I am sad that your baby days are behind you-they come and go faster each time but the adventures we are going to go on together are just beginning.
