You turned two this past week and two you sure are! You embody everything I could ever imagine a two year old boy to be and we are loving (almost) every second of it!
Some of your favorite things right now:
Your Sisters! You love to play with Ellery and pretty much do everything she wants to do (dress up and playing doll house included). And you love to hug Edie and run around and make her giggle. You love to hold her yourself and when she smiles you get very excited. We are working on not getting too excited.
You love everything about throwing things-mostly various shapes and sizes of balls. Footballs, golf balls, playground balls, etc…You even love watching it on tv! I don’t even want to watch golf as much as you do!
You started school two weeks ago and the first few days were a little rocky but you’ve settled right in and now you are the one to prompt the hug for Ellery mid-hallway walk! You are so proud of yourself and cannot wait to show me things you do when I come to pick you up. It has been a total game changer in your sleep habits too. You’ve grown up overnight.
Current fave foods include but are not limited to: pasta (specifically spaghetti or bucatini with pesto plus LOTS of cheese), cheese, fruit (apples, bananas, clementines, grapes). Chocolate-oh my how you love chocolate!, olives (like Ellery), yogurt, pancakes and lots more!
Each day you surprise me with a new word or phrase. Today, you said “downstairs” clear as day and Ellery and I looked at each other and she said, “wow, he said that so clearly!” You surprised us both!
Jumping around-on and off things is also a favorite past time. It can be our furniture, Ellery, stairs or even just a book that you’ve decided needs to be jumped off of at the moment. You’ve really helped me grow much thicker skin. I am a LOT less nervous than I was with your Sister, Ellery.
Sometimes I feel so awful that I haven’t had as much time to spend one on one with you these past few months when Edie was born. You’ve taken a back seat a lot of times when I know you needed me too. I carry that guilt with me all the time and I hope to make it up to you now that Edie is getting older and a bit less reliant on me. I promise we will have loads of special time together, just the two of us because you deserve it.
I am so proud of the little boy you are becoming and I cannot wait to watch you grow this next year. You are sweet, sensitive, strong and so determined.
I love you to the moon and back, MY little prince, Everett.
